Review: w7 Big Lash Mascara

I never actually bought this mascara.  Rather, it came in a gift with purchase box which turned out to be a fail on the whole. But that's another story.  

As you'll see in the ingredients image, I first opened this mascara on the 15th of July.  The claim of this particular mascara is that it lasts (open) for 12 months, 4x the industry standard of 3.  You might think "Great, I always use my mascaras for a good 5 months anyway! Plus it's super cheap!".  Your enthusiasm would be misplaced.  In short, I despise this mascara; let me explain why.

From the second I opened it I could see both disaster and greatness in its future.  In a way both are right.  The numerous individual spikes of the mascara is the style I prefer, the gigantic size is not (finger for reference).

The wand is the major issue with this product because it is so large that no matter how I contort, I end up with a significant amount of mascara on my upper and lower lids.  The lashes themselves look great.  Long, fairly voluminous, separated: just how I like them.  (The mascara is on the right side)

But the formula also flakes throughout the day so I both start and finish my day with black dots around my eyes: not the look I'm after.

In summary: DON'T DO IT! Despite the pretty lashes the smudging on application and flaking throughout the day makes this product both cheap and nasty.
