Femme Fatale Haul, Review and Swatches

Today's post is a little late but here nonetheless.  It is my overview of the items I bought from Femme Fatale.

I am a Brisbane local so I chose to pick my items up at their warehouse location.  They say on the site that you can browse, swatch and order on site which had me thinking it would be a large room filled with testers.  It isn't.  The customer space is the size of a broom closet and in two tiny shelving units are perhaps shy of 100 samples of the indie products they sell.

Still it was fine and I got my brown paper bag to go home.  They package with paper noodles and include promotional cards from the brands you purchase from.

I got four minis of Femme Fatale's own shadows and one from Hello Waffle, one from Shiro and a lip balm from Geek Fire Labs.

Quick note on the lip balm as I won't go on further: it is very highly scented of butterscotch and is clear with a waxy texture.  I got the Hogwarts Holiday scent.

Read on for swatches of the shadows.
For each shade will be a picture of the pan, swatches on the skin (top: finger, bare skin; middle: brush, primer; bottom: brush, white base) and then any application on the eye.

First from Shiro Cosmetics is 'Forever A Loan'.
This shadow is a light limeish green with green shimmer.

Shows up best with a finger, definitely nice and pigmented there.  It suffers with just a translucent base ad is improved with a white.

See the shade on the inner third.

See the shade at the inner corner over white and at the outer as a blending shade.
Next is 'Enabling' by Hello Waffle.
It's a lovely metallic copper which reflects golden shimmer in direct light.

It applies fantastically no matter what method.  I would tentatively say it does even better with a brush than fingers.
Here is 'Carnival of Horrors' by FF.
I bought it hoping for a blue-brown shade but it pulls strongly burgundy with less shimmer than expected.

(Top 3 only) It seems to apply worst with fingers and by far best on white if you want to see the blue/green shimmer.  All of these had to be built up several times.
It's all over the lid here and blended out at the edges.  You can see how little of the blue reflect is picking up.
This is 'Witch Country' also by FF.
Again I had hoped for a blue-brown situation with this shade and certainly got closer to it.  It is more green-purple however.

(Bottom 3 only) It applied quite strangely with fingers, it seemed to pick up a tonne of shimmer and less of the base shade comparatively.  I think it's stunning over either plain primer or a white cream but the white definitely grabs more reflect.
All over the lid and the shimmers are really prominent (yes they transfer to my hood).
This is a comparison between 'Carnival of Horrors' and 'Witch Country'.
Sorry for the blur.
This shows 'Icemist Diamond' by FF.
Recommended as a Sugarpill Lumi dupe to me.  It is a white, maybe slightly (in the pan) pinkish base with a lot of blue shimmer.

You can see it really needs a base and it does need a little building if you want a stark look.  It's more textured on translucent primer and smooth and more white over white cream.
Last up is 'Spearmint Candy' by FF.
It's a pale (sort of warm) purple with aqua shift.

Again, sorry for the blur here and in the coming shots.  I don't know if it's me or the camera trying to focus on the gleam.  The shadow is across the lid here.

I think it's fairly equally strong in all conditions, maybe a touch icier with a finger.
Finally a comparison between the highlighting shades.  'Spearmint Candy' looks a lot warmer by comparison.

Thanks for reading!

Cassy
