REVIEW: Elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil (Retractable in shade 'Neutral brown')

Brows have caught the world's attention in the past several years and while the avid passion for products which give you Instagram worthy numbers has died down, there are still some great products floating around which I want to give a go.  Today I'm sharing my experience with the elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil, a retractable pencil with a fairly slim tip and only 0.18grams of product.  My shade is 'Neutral Brown'.

First off for the packaging of the product, it's a hard plastic with a smooth matte finish in a white with black print and a colour indicator to one end.  One cap is opaque (covering the actual 'lead') and the other clear showing the spoolie.  The spoolie is a fairly flexible one, not overly rough but still as scratchy as you might expect.

As mentioned there is only 0.18g of product which is minuscule.  In Australia it'll set you back just $6 on the elf website but be aware that e.g. the NYX Micro Brow Pencil is $16.95 for 0.5g meaning it's right about the same price gram for gram.  Onto performance.

Bare brows

Freshly drawn pencil

Pencil blended out with spoolie
You can see that the pencil can fill in your brows nicely and it can go subtle or intense depending on your shade and application.

I find the colour the right depth, a little warm for my preference (I would literally put grey in my brows I like it so cool though) but a perfectly usable product.

If you're a beginner to brows I think this is a fantastic way to try a pencil out.  You get a fairly precise application and a low cost with minimal product so you won't worry about any long term investment if you hate it.  That said there are probably nicer pencils and certainly one's with wider colour ranges out there.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase it? Not until I've used up a few of my other 4 brow products but I would definitely consider it at that time.

Have a lovely day or night and until next week, bye!

Cassy
