Use It Up Goals 2017

So like many, I'm pretty obsessed with makeup, I think about it too much and it weighs on me that I have more than a reasonable amount.  Due to this for several years I've had goals of limiting my shopping and both using up and decluttering a lot of my stash.  My desire to go cruelty free has also played into this.

Therefore today I'm documenting the tentative goals I have for completing this year.

My makeup inventory has become more and more detailed over the past year, now including far more breakdowns of products and goals.

The most important section in this discussion is the 'End of 2017 Goal'.  You can read it on the sheet so I'll explain what is meant by each of those statements.

Primer: I have two right now, one mostly full and one about 1/3 complete.  I either want to totally complete the more finished one or split my energy between both so that both get down to about 1/3 left by end of year.

Foundation: this is one area I feel confident in.  I'm about 2/5 complete so I want to either be imminently close or totally done with it by year's end.

Concealer: similar to above but I'm even more confident with this.  With consistent use I'm sure I'll be on a new bottle in December.

Setting spray: I've got two bottles, though I can't tell how much is used I know one is much more through than the other.  I might be able to get through both but my safe bet it to finish off one.

Powder: I have pan on one and the other part gone but again I'm conservatively saying one will be complete.

Contour: I only have one but it's always slow going so I'd like to just hit pan.

Blush: same sort of story here, I don't use a lot of blush so I'd just like to hit pan on my most used blush.  Maybe I'll be lucky and do more.

Highlight: this category is actually a very lofty goal: I want to hit pan on my only highlight.  The thing is it's Becca Moonstone so it's massive and I don't use it often.

Eye primer: the one I have is nearly 1/3 used so I think I'll either get close to or totally finish it by 2018

Eyeliner: this is where some decluttering of expired makeup will begin.  I think all of my liners are technically expired but for now they're still usable.  By the end of the year I think I'll be throwing my gel liner and possibly the liquid one too but I should be able to use up at least one of my pencil liners, maybe even two.

Cream shadow: this number change will come exclusively from decluttering.  I have two very old mini cream shadows which will no doubt be unusable soon.

Mascara: I never have more than one in use and sometimes a backup waiting, no issue here.

Lash glue: I rarely use lashes so this guy will just stick around (haha, puns)

Brows: I want to halve these products and I think I can use up at least my pencil.  I'll probably throw my dried out pomade, I could finish my gel but I won't be able to complete my powder.

Eyeshadow palette: I will likely never complete a pan that palette but I would still like to see some pan, particularly in my older palettes.

Single shadow: I only expect to hit pan on my NARS single which is Abyssinia: a light satin pink colour.

Lip products: this is my region of worst hoarding.  I'm not really that into lip products, they aren't very exciting and I really just need a few staple colours to complete my face.  That said I have a tonne because I'm an idiot.  I will have at least a few rancid products along this year and I hope to pan maybe two glosses.  The rest of the reduction will come through decluttering which is painful but necessary.

As mentioned in the introduction, I also have cruelty free goals so a lot of the reductions will be in animal tested products and therefore will increase my cruelty free percentage to 91.67% if I can achieve my goals.  My collection will go from 85 products to 60 at the start of next year.
