REVIEW: Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (Limited Edition 2016)
Much as I should be on a low/no buy I caved and got the Sweet Peach palette due in large part to its mention from both Just Buy the Makeup and Kitsch Snitch (on Youtube and blogger). They have both done reviews which are a little different from my own impression so I encourage you to check them out for some different (and not wholly positive) perspectives.
For all those interested in the terribly exciting (said with extreme sarcasm) scent of the palette, when I first bought it I had entirely forgotten about that feature and only later smelled it once I thought about it. I do notice it slightly now but please note I have a poor sense of smell.
The packaging is, in my opinion. lovely, without featuring the overly cutesy themes Too Faced can suffer from. You'll be able to see it has a gradiated finish on both the box and the outer tin of the palette.
The colours range from light to very dark (though not quite black) with a suitable but not extensive amount of medium shades, though plenty of shimmery lid colours. The layout is a control freak's dream as it too gradiates nicely through the spectrum.
At this point I'd like to draw attention to the swatches I took and point out that I am very fair complected and used my fingers to apply the product to my arm. Forgive me for the slightly blurry images, the camera was not having it. I swatched down the columns starting at White Peach and finishing with Talk Derby to Me.
It may be important (or not at all) for you to know I cleaned my arm off from the first 9 colours with a baby wipe, which left a slight sticky residue for the following 9 shades.
I found most of the shades to apply strongly and evenly, the worst from the swatches are White Peach, Georgia and Summer Yum. Candied Peach, White Peach and Bellini had the most powdery excess.
Another important point to note is that Tempting and Talk Derby to Me stained my arm after swatching, albeit faintly.
I have used all of the shadows on my eyes and find them to generally perform well, blending out reasonably and applying with good saturation. Peach Pit left fallout on my face as did Bless Her Heart which started off patchy and performed better using fingers. Cobbler and Just Peachy required some building up on the eyes. The sparkles in Talk Derby to Me weren't apparent once applied to the eye and Caramelized showed up warmer than in the pan.
At around 5 hours I could see the beginnings of creasing at my inner corner and by 7+ hours fully fledged creasing would occur. This is fairly standard for me as I have very folded lids which are moderately oily.
If you would like to see all of the pictures I took of my looks with the palette I have a lookbook available in the post just after this one. Here is just one example of freshly applied and end-of-the-day makeup.
Final thoughts: I enjoy this palette. The shadows have all worked well for me and if these colours appeal to you I would recommend it. While the palette is (as of now) limited edition Too Faced has announced a re-release will be arriving around the holiday time (November/December). It isn't necessarily the perfect palette for me given I love my mattes and will quite happily skip any and all shimmers, but it is a rock solid addition to my collection and I look forward to continued use.

Cassy.
