Tutorial: Classic Black Outer Smokey Eye

Today I have another super quick and easy eye look for you.  It's a 100% cool toned look so if you only do warms maybe skip this one, otherwise use it as an opportunity to expand your horizons!

Products:
elf Eyelid Primer
Saucebox Etude Palette (all matte)
elf Professional Eyeshadow Brush
elf Contour Brush
Sephora 73 Crease shadow brush
Zoeva 230 Luxe Pencil brush
Revlon Lash Curler
w7 Big Lash Mascara (do not recommend, see my review)

First step: Prime your eyes and follow all over with a shadow that matches your skin.  I went for Beaming using my elf shadow brush

Second step (not pictured): Take a blending shadow, a few shades darker than the first and roughly blend it through the outer lid and crease.  I did this with Cream Dream on my Sephora blending brush.

Thirdly: Grab a black and a smaller crease brush and pat/sweep it onto the outer corner (about 1/3 across) and tightly into the crease.  I personally did this with Toffee and the elf contour brush.

Last step for shadow: Take your blending shade again and sweep all over the edges of your black until it looks smooth and blends softly.  Add more black and continue to blend depending on your desired depth.

I also always add shadow to the lower lashline, in this case Almond, a grey.

Finally curl (if you please) and apply mascara to the lashes.

This should be your finished look.

I recommend doing all of this work before foundation and concealer as smokey eyes and black shadows have the inherent risk of getting wild and all over your face.

So I hope that helped walk you through the basic steps of an outer smokey eye.  I'm happy to take questions or comments and I hope you have a lovely day.

Cassy
